BMO Bank of Montreal today announced that the boys from North
Vancouver’s Surge have been named BMO Team of the Week. The title
comes with a $500 team prize, a $500 donation to a charity of the
team’s choice, BMO Team of the Week tracksuits for the team and
coaching staff and a community celebration in the team’s honour at
a local BMO branch.

The team, which has been recognized for its players’ work on and
off the field, is the 13
thto be named BMO Team of the Week in 2013. A total of
15 weekly winners across Canada will be named over the course of
the summer as part of BMO’s national grassroots soccer program.

“These boys truly live and breathe soccer,” said Alex Wray, Head
Coach of the Surge. “Their passion for the game is not determined
by the number of goals scored or games won, but by their commitment
to each other and mutual desire to grow as a team. Their love of
the game extends to the greater soccer community on a daily basis
and I could not be more proud of this accomplishment.”

BMO Team of the Week recognizes youth soccer teams (age 7-12)
across Canada that demonstrate team pride, spirit, community
commitment and passion for the game. Fifteen teams will be selected
as BMO Team of the Week. Each of the weekly winners will then vie
for the title of 2013 BMO Team of the Week Champion. The Champion
will be determined by the Canadian public through daily online
voting at BMOsoccer.com from August 5-19 for the team they feel is
most deserving of the award.

“I commend the boys for their perseverance and for their
dedication to giving back to their community,” said Joanne Gassman,
Senior Vice President, British Columbia and Yukon Division, BMO
Bank of Montreal. “This achievement is a great opportunity for the
boys to bring national recognition to their team and to North
Vancouver. I wish them luck as they vie for the title of 2013 BMO
Team of the Week Champion.”
